A word from our founder
I was born and brought up in the then garden city of Bangalore, where I spent the first 20 yrs of my life. As a child I was the most delicate among my siblings with poor immunity and visiting the doctor every month was my routine. I hated being sick! There were a bunch of food restrictions and I dreaded medicines the most. Due to these frequent health complications, I couldn't function in school academics and sports.
As a 5year old, I always wondered how food cured, healed and prevented me from falling sick. This led to a series of quests as a child, and I began exploring food at a very early stage. I always thought about how eating habits defined who we are, how they shape us, how they influenced us. That awakened the food explorer inside me and thus began my journey to be a Nutritionist icon, who herself can be a role model to many millions. P.S. as a child, I had an aversion for vegetables and my only staple food was lentils-rice and curd rice (Laughs heartily)
My health took a U turn as a teenager only after focussing on my dietary habits. I learnt the science of Nutrition the hard way. My mother in law survived cancer but there were a lot of complications following that for which, medicines were just not the answer. Nobody enjoys taking medicines and I strongly felt that the missing element in her treatment was no other but the right Nutrition.
Nourishing one’s body through food has been the greatest challenge. And I enjoyed taking that challenge and choosing that as my career path. As an answer to my childhood quest, I did my post graduation in Nutrition having just admitted my son to school. While he was learning the Alphabet A, B C… I was learning Vitamin A, B , C…..
Life was taxing with all the household responsibilities, preschooler and elderly at home. I thought of quitting thrice in the first six months but practically learning to nourish all at home kept me going and I finally completed my masters with flying colours. Today as a Clinical Dietician I fulfil my life’s purpose of supporting and guiding people to achieve their health goals and I can proudly say - I practice what I preach.
